The club has been in existence since 1976, when it was called the Australian Shepherd Club of Georgia. In the beginning, club members came out of pocket for many of the necessary expenses to host conformation and obedience shows and set up livestock and locations for the herding trials.
In 2000, GAASC hosted the ASCA National Specialty with 1,070 dogs
in attendance. We stepped up again in 2005 to host the National
Specialty again. In that year we hosted 1,215 dogs and their
owners. This club has come a LONG way in a short amount of time.
We feel the best for both our breed and this club is yet to come.
We have a total of 60 members from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Missouri and Nevada. GAASC puts on several conformation shows along with stockdog, obedience and agility trials each year.
